BABA KI NAGARI DURING MAHASHIVRATRI

Baba ki nagari also known as Deoghar or Baidyanath dham is the must visiting place if you are diehard fan of Mahakal(lord Shiva) like me . That evening of Mahashivratri when i reached Deoghar was so eye catching and heart-warming that I stand stood for a moment and wanted to click the whole scenario in my eyes.
Out of the 12 jyotirlinga in India ,Baidyanath dham is one ,which is named as "Kamna linga". According to strong belief this Baidyanath Jyotirlinga is going to give what you desire.

Shivratri is something for which the entire Deoghar waits eagerly. The crowd of people were pretty enough to tell the popularity of ocassion and the excitement in them. I am very sure that if at that time I have screamed "how is the josh?"  the whole Deoghar would have said "BOL BOMin a very energetic way.
There are many stories behind celebrating Mahashivratri. Some people says it was the night when lord Shiva and mother Parvati got married and the red thread tied between main shrine of lord shiva and lord parvati's temple shows the unity between them. some says during the churning of sea(Samundra manthan)  the halahal poison  that appeared was drank by Shiva in order to save the whole world on the same day of Mahashivratri and that's why they worship lord Shiva.
                       Rally by devotees

Shiv Barat is organised at night in which people devote themselves in rally wearing diffrent attire to show their love towards lord Shiva disguising themselves as priests, ghosts, gods and goddesses etc.
I was amazed to see the devotion of peoples that how they are dancing without taking rest even in vrata(fasting). Shiva devotees believes that observing this fasts bestows the blessing of lord Shiva.
